The SSPX Sisters Visit St. Thomas More Church & Academy
The Sisters of the Society of St. Pius X visited St. Thomas More Academy and Church for the weekend of February 20th. Ladies and girls came from the Florida missions and from out of state to visit with the Sisters, and to experience a little of their apostolate by attending a presentation of their religious life and a presentation of Archbishop Lefebvre. The girls enjoyed a day of arts and crafts and outdoor games with the Sisters. The ladies provided a well-prepared breakfast and a potluck lunch. The day ended all too soon, with the children expressing their wish that the Sisters would stay “forever.”
The following day, Sunday, the Sisters again presented their apostolate for the edification of all the parishioners. All, even men and boys, benefit from seeing the religious life, as the souls consecrated to God sustain the life of the Church.
Mother Marie Gabriel used to tell her novices: “Once you have been clothed in the religious habit, your time no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the Church.”
On Monday, the Sisters visit the Academy and were received with enthusiasm in the classroom. At the end of the morning, all had lunch at the Priory with the eldest students serving the meal. We thank the Sisters for their visit and pray they will visit St. Thomas More Church and Academy again and longer!

The Congregation of Sisters of the Society of Saint Pius X was established by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and his sister, Mother Marie-Gabriel Lefebvre in 1974 for the purpose of facilitating the apostolate of the priests of the Society of Saint Pius X.
