Father Aulagnier Passes Away on May 6, 2021

On Wednesday, May 6, 2021, Fr. Paul Aulagnier fell asleep in the Lord after receiving Last Rites.

Born on May 23, 1943, Fr. Aulagnier was among the first group of seminarians to join Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre at the advent of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX). After receiving ordination in 1971, Fr. Aulagnier was the Society’s First Assistant from 1973 until 1982. He later became District Superior of France from 1976 to 1994 before becoming Second Assistant from 1994 until 2002. Even though he left the SSPX in 2003, he remained attached to the life and legacy of Archbishop Lefebvre.

In addition to his priestly ministry, he was also a professor and subrector of the Society’s seminary at Ecône in the early years. During his time in France, he oversaw the SSPX’s expansion, including the establishment of new chapels, schools, and priories.

Despite his departure from the Society, he remained a steadfast worker for the restoration of Catholic Tradition. May he rest in peace.
